St. Francis In-The-Fields SFZ Concert Series
St. Francis In-The-Fields Episcopal Church
Since 2017, St. Francis In-The-Fields Episcopal Church has presented the SFORZANDO Concert Series, welcoming accomplished Indiana musicians and touring artists from across the country to perform in the church nave. Programs have ranged from Renaissance motets to 21st-century jazz. Past performers include Chanticleer, Echoing Air, VOCE, Hot Horns, Trio Pastorale, Catacoustic Consort, The Archibald Quartet and Josefien Stoppelenburg.
The 2026–2027 season continues that range with solo saxophone, tango and jazz, classical guitar, Christmas brass music, solo piano and early music.

Becky Archibald and Friends: Wango Tzango Sfortzango!

Composer and pianist Becky Archibald performs original violin-and-piano tangos with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra violinist Bryson Karrer. The program also includes jazz trios performed with a small combo and celebrates Archibald’s album Tango for Disobedient Beasts.

Black Tulip: Tulipmania

Black Tulip closes the season with Tulipmania: Music, Art, Politics & Society in the Dutch Golden Age. The program explores the cultural and political setting of the Netherlands during the 17th and early 18th centuries through music by Jacob van Eyck, Constantijn Huygens, Ferrabosco, Johannes Schenck and Buxtehude, along with Dutch folk songs.
