Christmas in the Village is Zionsville’s annual holiday kickoff, beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving with a parade through the Village and the town tree lighting at the corner of Pine and Main Streets. The kickoff evening leads into the Christmas in the Village season, with shopping events, dining, and Santa visits on select dates through December.

The parade begins at 5:00 PM at Eagle Elementary and travels through the Village to Old National Bank on South Main Street, arriving around 6:00 PM. Santa and Mrs. Claus then light the town tree, officially starting the Christmas season in Zionsville.

What's planned for 2026

The kickoff Saturday includes:

  • 4:00 PM — Streets along the parade route close to vehicles
  • 5:00 PM — Christmas parade begins at Eagle Elementary
  • ~6:00 PM — Parade ends at Old National Bank on South Main Street
  • Immediately following parade — Christmas tree lighting at the corner of Pine and Main Streets with Santa and Mrs. Claus
  • After the tree lighting — Santa photos, downtown shopping, and dining

Additional kickoff-day activities are added each year by Main Street merchants and the Chamber of Commerce. Confirmed 2026 details will be added as they are announced.

The Christmas in the Village season

The kickoff parade marks the start of Zionsville’s holiday season downtown. Through December, Main Street merchants host shopping events, holiday displays, Santa visits, and other seasonal activities on select dates. The brick-paved streets, lit storefronts, and Village setting make downtown Zionsville a popular place for evening strolls, holiday photos, and Christmas shopping.

Plan your visit

When: Saturday, November 28, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM
Parade route: Begins at Eagle Elementary, ends at Old National Bank on South Main Street
Tree lighting: Corner of Pine and Main Streets, immediately following the parade
Admission: Free
Dress warm: This is an outdoor evening event in late November. Bring coats, hats, and gloves, especially if you plan to stand along the parade route.

Parking:
This is one of the most heavily attended events of the year, and parking will be tight throughout the Village. Plan to arrive before 4:00 PM if you want to drive into the Village before parade-route streets close.

Street parking is available along Main Street and nearby streets, but it fills quickly on busy event nights. The largest public parking lot is located at the northwest corner of Main Street and Sycamore Road, with access from both Main Street and First Street. The lot at the southwest corner of Main and Pine Streets is closed for the tree lighting on parade night.

Additional parking is available on nearby side streets and in public lots throughout the Village, including Lions Park, all within a short walk of downtown. Many residents and visitors walk several blocks rather than trying to park near the parade route, so dress for the walk.

[A parking and route map will be added closer to the event.]
