Roasted in the Village opened in October 2019, making it the oldest coffee shop in Zionsville. Located just off the brick Main Street, it has a casual atmosphere with white-painted walls, wood floors, and a front counter displaying pastries and coffee beans. Local artwork, often featuring Indiana birds and wildlife, gives the space a warm and distinct character.

The casual, charming space is an apt setting for small groups, relaxed conversation, or a little downtime. Tables and a counter-height bar along the wall provide a good spot for laptop work, while armchairs, a leather couch, and a cushioned bench by the front window offer a cozier place to enjoy your drink. Outside, seating beneath their covered walkway lets you take in the town's atmosphere, rain or shine.

Roasted is known for its house-made syrups, crafted from scratch with whole ingredients right in the café to flavor lattes and seasonal drinks. Maple brown sugar remains a best seller, while orange cardamom began as a kitchen-tested recipe and became one of the shop's signature flavors. Recent creations include Sunshine Syrup (orange and lemon citrus with golden honey), Strawberry Vanilla, Cookie Butter, and Lavender Rosemary.

The menu includes espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea, breakfast burritos, and baked goods. See the full Roasted in the Village guide for photos and menu highlights.

Several tables offer space for conversation or work, while couches provide a more relaxed spot to sip a drink and pass the time. During pleasant weather, the café's charming, umbrella-shaded alleyway seating offers a glimpse of nearby Main Street.

Expanding from its original Westfield location, RIVET opened its Zionsville space in 2024 inside a racing company's headquarters on 106th Street.

The spacious coffee bar inside Graham Rahal Performance is a blend of café, breakfast-and-lunch restaurant, meeting lounge, and laptop-friendly workspace, all adjacent to a showroom featuring exotic and high-performance vehicles. The expansive dining area has light-colored walls, high ceilings, and an open design, reflecting the surrounding automotive environment with a refined industrial aesthetic.

During peak morning hours or at lunchtime, the space has a bustling, high-energy vibe, with people enjoying meals, having conversations, or working while sipping drinks. Come in at a less busy time if you need to plug in a laptop along the perimeter of the room, or if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.

RIVET only uses specialty-grade coffee — beans scoring 80 or higher on the 100-point scale — and roasts them nearby in Westfield. Local roasting preserves the freshness and unique flavor notes of the beans before they are crafted into drinks just down the road in Zionsville.

The drink menu includes brewed coffee, espresso drinks, specialty lattes, mochas, cold brew, and tea. The food menu includes egg sandwiches, frittatas, liege waffles (a dense, chewy, and sweet Belgian waffle), salads, and open-faced sandwiches.

Java House

Java House was established in neighboring Carmel, Indiana in 2019, with a vision of reimagining cold brew and the way it's served.

Cold brew is coffee made by steeping grounds in cold water for 12 or more hours, making a smoother, sweeter, and less acidic cup than traditional hot coffee. While every other coffee shop in this guide relies on espresso — coffee extracted using heated, high-pressure water — Java House builds its entire coffee selection on cold brew.

The drink menu includes a variety of hot and cold coffees, including nitro, lattes, ice-blended frappes, and decaf options, along with specialty tea, smoothies, and energy drinks. The café also specializes in unique cold foam flavors and house-made whipped cream. The food menu features pastries, baked goods, and all-day breakfast wraps and sandwiches.

The chain's Michigan Road location has an urban-industrial atmosphere with brick walls, wood tables, and black metal seating. Tall, expansive windows let in natural light, supplemented by warm pendant lights hanging from high ceilings. The atmosphere complements social gatherings, a break from the workday, or a coffee or tea after a meal. The location also has drive-thru service.

Mochaland is the newest member of the coffee scene, with a soft opening in Zionsville in mid-2026, expanding from its West Lafayette space. The Michigan Road location has a warm, modern atmosphere, with dark walls, light wood seating, woven pendant lights, and cultural details that reflect its focus on Middle Eastern coffee.

A traditional Arabic coffee pot, or dallah, along with small finjan cups, decorates the light-colored wall behind the service area. On the counter, clear vials of coffee beans, matcha powder, and spice mixes are arranged in a "Lab Wheel" that lets customers see and smell ingredients used across the menu.

Mochaland partners with farms aligned with its values and roasts coffee in small batches to maintain the unique characteristics of each origin. Beans are sourced from countries such as Yemen, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Guatemala, Peru, and Panama. The menu features traditional Middle Eastern drinks such as Turkish Coffee (strong, unfiltered coffee served in a traditional long-handled pot) and Arabic Qahwah (lightly roasted coffee with cardamom and saffron), along with familiar espresso-based drinks like lattes, cortados, and cappuccinos.

The café also serves specialty teas, including Adeni Chai (a Yemeni drink made with black tea, condensed milk, and cardamom), iced Cascara Tea (made by steeping coffee cherry husks), and Mint Tea (fresh mint steeped in hot water with black tea).

Hattie's is the first locally owned, independent café in Whitestown. Named after Harriet 'Hattie' Wilson White, the wife of the town's namesake, the coffee house opened in 2023 in a remodeled historic farmhouse — a unique venue more like a home than the usual coffee shop.

The two-story house has rooms and open spaces, with French doors and windows that let in plenty of natural light. The interior has white-painted walls and ceilings, dark wood floors, and natural wood accents. Tables, couches, and counter-height barstools provide seating options for work, conversation, or quiet time. Comfortable nooks and quiet study corners are available on both the main level and the second floor, including an upstairs meeting and event space available for rent.

Outside seating includes bistro tables on the front porch, umbrella-shaded picnic tables in the side yard, and a children's play area and picnic table beneath a large tree in the backyard.

To support their Boone County neighbors, the café partners with several local suppliers, including Zionsville's The Daily Grind — a father-and-son duo who roast their small-batch beans on-site right at Hattie's. They also feature fresh milk from Dandy Breeze Creamery in Sheridan, and pastries delivered weekly from the Boone County Cake Company in Lebanon.

The drink menu includes espresso-based drinks such as lattes, cortados, and traditional macchiatos; brewed coffee; cold brew; tea lattes such as chai and matcha; tea, hot chocolate, steamers, and apple cider. The food menu includes baked goods, sandwiches, avocado toast, and overnight oats.

Visit Hattie's website to learn more about their story, gathering spaces, and local partnerships.
